Purpose


The purpose of IGST, as a postgraduate consortium of Evangelical institutions, is to glorify God by providing quality theological education. This education aims to prepare scholars and leaders for building and renewing the Church in Asia and beyond.

Aims
IGST seeks to achieve the following aims:

1. Develop students holistically: Develop students spiritually, intellectually, and morally, equipping them with values, knowledge, and skills for building up God’s Church and extending His kingdom.

2. Address Asian issues with a global perspective: Address issues arising from Asia with a global perspective, preparing men and women for effective work in various ministry settings.

3. Provide ministry skills: Provide specific ministry skills in areas such as:
– Preaching
– Teaching
– Worship
– Missions
– Pastoral counseling
– Congregational ministry
– Youth and family ministry
– Children’s ministry
– Church leadership
– Spiritual formation
– Program development

4. Provide academic foundations: Provide adequate academic foundations in various theological disciplines, including:
– Textual studies
– Biblical languages
– Church history
– Historical theology

1. Foster integration and spiritual development: Provide an academic and interpersonal environment where theological disciplines can be integrated with ministry skills and personal spiritual development.

2. Encourage resource sharing: Encourage the sharing of resources, including personnel, library, and media.
